We are developing a novel methodotogy for organic synthesys using a flow microreactor, and also developing a novel materials produced by the flow synthesis.

Flow Micro Synthesis

So far, synthetic organic chemistry has brought about various compounds for society. Now that the development of technology makes the demands of chemicals in society more sophisticated, new synthetic methods for synthesizing highly functionalized substances are strongly needed to meet those demands.
However, in organic synthesis, batch reactors such as glass flasks have been used for more than 100 years. Because the batch reactors are "macro reactor", with those batch reactors, chemists need to control the reaction from the view point of micro, molecular behavior itself, and that of macro (behavior of mass of molecules). This mass reaction control is sometimes complicated and difficult. Although a huge number of chemical reactions have been developed in the last 100 years, most of the reactors are traditional ones. Batch reactors are not always able to exert all the power of chemical reactions, which means that in addition to developing new reactions, research on novel reaction fields is required.
